Well, that depends on which operating systems are at each end, and what PPP
tools they support.
You'll need a "cross-over" serial cable, which has the Tx at one end connected
to the Rx at the other (and vice versa). You'll need two compatable serial
devices, one at each end of the link, running the same speeds and an
8-bit-clean data setting.
On each system, configure the PPP software to communicate via the selected
serial port. Set up minimum (or no) authentication. Decide on and assign the
IP addresses. Configure each local TCP/IP stack to permit and route data
throught the IP addresses.
More detailed instructions depend on your systems, your PPP software, and your
TCP/IP stacks. You'll have to supply those details to us; we can't guess them
from here.
